| Well, its HUGE, and it spans for a huge distance underground as well.... im thinking of smoothing off ALL the ledges... making flood waters on the bottom... and turning it into a giant mob killer?? If i close off the ceiling and turn out all the lights.. that is one ENORMOUS dark room. Especially if i make sure everywhere ELSE has lots of light ... HMMM | |

| Well we would have to research exactly how monsters sown now in 1.8.1 and how they will spawn in 1.9.... To see if this will actually be effective.. Sonething tells me that mov towers, for example, are not as effective as in 1.7.3 | |

| I've made several large scale mob harvestors for other servers, i can totally make something MASSIVE and close to home if you want me to. | |

| well, here's the thing....
It's MASSIVE... and it's CLOSE alright...
but:
1) did you make them in 1.8.1? 2) were they effective? 3) Do we know if they will still be effective 1.9?
1.9 is right around the corner... and the server will be moving to 1.9 It may be 1.9 by the time you get it finished... if mob spawning has changed significantly, as did animal spawning for example, then it may end up being wasted effort

| Yes I made my latest one on a friends 1.8.1 server, and it worked very efficiently, minus spiders for some reason...they dont seem to like the water...but im sure i can figure out alterations of a harvestor by watching a few youtube videos and coming up with something myself xD
also, the harvestor can be as big as you want it to be....i mean MASSIVE JUST MASSIVE, and I can even have multiple floors on that thing working all at once.

| Then I can get very technical and turn the whole thing into a makeshift mob killer, and hook it up to the harvestor, so it all drops into one neat little area | |

| That was my idea all along , however we dont need to get bogged down in the technicallity of having it all collect in one spot... we can use multiple collection points at intervals, a pressure plate at the collection point that connects with redstone running all the way up above ground on towers with a ton of light. If an item is available, Light turns on and can be seen from afar. Water drop down to collection points. ladder going up since water elevators are broken :/ The light towers can be bright TORCH LIGHT, hidden by activated pistons, when pressure plate hits and power runs up, its inverted to turn off the pistons. pistons open to reveal blinding torch light | |

| I actually had an idea a few days ago, while i was trying to configure an auto-elevator with a ton of redstone and pistons...instead of transporting people, im pretty sure i can transport items up with the click of a button | |

| Hmm... not sure how practical that would be..
UNLESS... how about instead of with the click of a button... with the click of a pressure plate so the item drop from the killing mechanism is automatically shot to surface?

| hmm...not sure how i could do that without breaking the plate...but i see its practicality by whenever we want to collect something thats below ground, just click a button, and ALL the loot is shot up for us to grab, instead of walking all the way down | |
